Server class NICs already offload the CPU, and produce standard packets. have few users that transfer large graphic files over the network, that upgrade to Gigabit Nics as well. want to add one Gigabit switch and upgrade the servers that dont have it to gigabit Nics, and connect the 10100 switches to connect users. I will be upgrading servers to Windows and adding an Exchange server to the network.

Also, can the clients Windows 98, XP use jumbo frames?Any other problems encounter? will be using mixed domain of NT and Windows machines. have servers running NT SP6a, some have Gigabit on the motherboard, others only 10100. have few users that transfer large graphic files over the network, that upgrade to Gigabit Nics as well.
